To Junior...#3

good morning, my sweet baby.

oof…when i got my birth control removed, do you know the doctor said to stop eating sweets and processed foods? we can agree on processed junk…but sweet junk is where i’ll have to draw the line.

you’ll later learn your mother loveeeeees dessert. it’s my favorite part of dinner. and besides, how else am i supposed to grow such a sweet baby?

with sugar of course!!

just kidding.

i find myself realizing day by day…so soon after removing my birth control, that i’m human. while there are some that adhere to protocol with the strictness of a drill sergeant on duty, there are some that combat allllll of the pregnancy discomfort (physical, mental, etc.) with a means of just getting by and being comfortable at all costs. eff a protocol. but, then there are those in the middle. i’m not sure where most mammals…or humans land on that spectrum, but, it seems most have been able to produce healthy enough babies regardless. i’m confident and praying we’ll have a similar outcome.

so…i will be eating dessert.

i would like to think the most important element in pregnancy is happiness. with a heavy dash of calm and peace. very little stress.

i feel like i’m on that path. your father and i are doing better, and better it seems. i can’t speak for him, but he seems happy. he’s planned a date for us tonight. on his own! don’t worry, i’ll have the tea for you later in life. but, just know, people are often inspired by their circumstances…in different ways. for your father to set up a date is a good sign that we’re in the right direction.

i look forward to continued date nights. our doula shared that a child's happiest memories tend to be of a happy mother. she painted the visual of getting ready for the day with music, putting on my lipstick in the mirror, laughing and flirting loudly…with dad of course. even long hugs on the bad days. a faint smile, and an action of love to ensure the bad day was only that.

i hope to stay on the path.

my sweet tooth has never been so strong.

it seems that happiness is the real dessert.

i love you. just expecting you makes me happy, Junior.
